Let me start by stating what the founding
members of the Phoenix Lords had in mind when creating this
guild.
We are not (and may never be) an Uber
Guild. We don't want to be an Uber Guild. Why? We like to
know each other by name and maybe a little something about
them. This is not a race to level 60. This… is our Everquest
Family, where we go to forget real life for a little while.
When someone in game asks, “What is your guild about?” I
hope your reply is similar to this…
All of the founding members of this
guild know each other in real life. We created the Phoenix
Lords as a means to help each other out, stick together,
make new friends, and explore the world.
The Guild Leader, in my mind, is the
person who exists to remind us of why we are here and to
keep things running smoothly.
Our purpose is simple. If you are interested
in joining our family and share the same ideals… Then these
are our guidelines.
- All members and prospects must read and agree with all
of the guidelines.
- Prospective character must be at least level 5 (this
is to ensure that you have at least some working knowledge
of the game).
- Members are only allowed to have a character in one
guild. In other words you can't have another character
in a different guild. (Exceptions can be made, please
include what guilds your other chars are in when sending
your acceptance of the Code of Conduct)
- All new members will be brought in as Regulars. To become
an officer, you must acquire the proper points standing
and then the existing officers must vote in favor of it
by a majority rule.
- All guild decisions will be decided upon by a majority
rule with the exception of emergency situations in which
the Guild Leader will make the decision.
- When wanting to camp an area - one should ask to get
into rotation with those already there. If denied - leave
quietly or kindly ask to be notified when the area is
vacated.
- Answer any cries for help if it is within your power
to do so - deny no one a second chance at life.
- Kill stealing will not be tolerated – we understand
that accidents can happen.
- Always warn others of incoming trains and always offer
to help someone before piling on (They may be pulling
the creature).
- There is a three strikes rule - anyone who is reported
will be confronted by an officer. Anyone reaching their
third strike will risk being voted out of the guild by
the officers.
- Above all - Be helpful and have fun.
Because we are growing, I feel that
it is time to state some sort of disciplinary guidelines.
Brell forbid that we should ever need to reference these
guidelines, but they will be here should anyone ever need
them.
These guidelines are the same for everyone
– Members, Officers, and Myself.
- Verbal Abuse to guildmates – This is a weird one. Not
everyone can talk to everyone in the same manner. Be aware
of who your talking to. Will they take what you say as
a joke – or will they consider it an insult? If someone
comes to me and says they've been having this problem
or I see something I feel is out of line – I will take
said person aside and speak with them about it. Repeated
abuse may result in demotion or removal from the guild
- Breaking the Code of Conduct – Said person will be taken
aside and spoken with. Repeated or blatant disregard for
the Code of Conduct may result in demotion or removal
from the guild.
- Failure to follow new member guidelines – May result
in demotion or removal from the guild.
Xildibus's Chambers: In an extreme situation
– you may be called to a chat room so that we can discuss
a matter in private. Most of the time there will be myself
and at least one other officer present to mediate the situation.
**Please note: This is the most severe scenario** If you
come into my chambers, these rules will be strictly enforced.
- Absolutely no personal tells to myself.
- You must speak to me – not who ever you're angry with.
- You will be civil to everyone in the room.
The Phoenix Lords Officers reserve the
right to change or add guidelines or disciplinary actions
as we see fit. I could cover every conceivable problem –
but that would make for an even longer read.
If you are interested in joining please
contact one of the following people with your character's
name, race, class, and the reason you would like to join
our guild. Our guild is a group of friends; we are not a
guild to join just to group with for a few levels. If you
want to make friends to fight with side by side, then we
are the guild for you.
